ENERGY AND EMISSIONS SNAPSHOT
LOCAL LAW 97 requires buildings (with few exceptions) over 25,000 ft2 to keep their annual greenhouse gas emissions (resulting from energy consumption) below a prescribed limit, else be penalized $268 for every ton a building exceeds said limit. Enforcement of building's greenhouse gas limits will begin in 2024, with annual limits becoming increasingly stricter every 5 years through 2050 and beyond.

Want to see how well or poorly-positioned your building is for future LL97 compliance? Search your building here! If your building has last year's benchmarked energy usage for LL84/133 compliance, we'll estimate and present your building's future LL97 exposure within seconds.
